Maura Newell Juan is the face of seventy2architects. She is the client liaison for all projects and is the Principal-in-Charge of Business Development. Her specialties include Church and School projects, Retail and Restaurant design, Multi-family housing, and Code Consulting.
Prior to co-founding seventy2architects in 2005, Maura was Senior Architect in charge of commercial projects for a firm in Ridgefield, CT. She has worked for award-winning architects such as Flynn Battaglia in Buffalo, NY, and Architecture+ in Troy, NY, where her work focused on large University and Hospital projects.
Maura is dedicated to making the design and the construction process easier/smoother for clients. She is actively involved with every project in the office and is the direct contact person for clients and contractors alike. She works with consultants and engineers to coordinate civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural work and regularly presents projects to local Planning and Zoning Commissions, Zoning Boards of Appeal, and Historical and Architectural advisory committees.
Maura attended the State University of New York at Buffalo for her Bachelor of Professional Studies in Architecture and went on to earn a Master of Architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She is a member of the AIA: American Institute of Architects, and is NCARB Certified: National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and a Building Official Emeritus in Connecticut.
